Spring trip to Madrid
Madrid is a great city to chase some warmth and sun before it hits the north of Europe during the spring. Historical parks, sunny rooftops, amazing Spanish food with a glass of wine makes a great weekend spring trip to Madrid.
The best with Madrid (as a Norwegian) is the warm weather that hits the city much earlier than other big cities in Europe. Denim skirt, thin summer shirt and a lovely jacquard coat is all you need to stroll around in the beautiful streets of Madrid.
The stunning glass Palacio de Cristal, or the Crystal Palace, is an emblematic structure in Madrid’s Parque del Buen Retiro. The building was originally created to showcase tropical plant life from the Philippines which at that time was a Spanish colony.
We stayed at a gorgeous hotel next to Parque del Buen Retiro called H10 Puerta de Alcala. The hotel had a cool rooftop with a pool overlooking the park and most parts of Madrid.
We went to so many cool places since Ale has some friends that have lived there for many years. What is better than having a local tour guide in a new city? 😍
My good friend Caroline Bjørdal visited me in London a few weeks ago – check it out here.
